We should train ourselves not to become engrossed in any of the thoughts continuously arising in our mind. Our consciousness is like a vast ocean with plenty of space for thoughts and emotions to swim about and we should not allow our attention to be distracted by any of them.
The Foundation Store is FPMT’s online shop and features a vast selection of Buddhist study and practice materials written or recommended by our lineage gurus. These items include homestudy programs, prayers and practices in PDF or eBook format, materials for children, and other resources to support practitioners.
Items displayed in the shop are made available for Dharma practice and educational purposes, and never for the purpose of profiting from their sale. Please read FPMT Foundation Store Policy Regarding Dharma Items for more information.
The FPMT organization is founded on the Buddhist tradition of Lama Tsongkhapa of Tibet, as taught by our founders Lama Thubten Yeshe and Lama Thubten Zopa Rinpoche.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama is the greatest source of inspiration for the Foundation, and therefore service to His Holiness is the main priority for the organization.
Up to now what we have been able to accomplish, benefiting this world in various ways is I think basically through the kindness of the guru: His Holiness, who is the only object of refuge of all of us sentient beings and the originator of all us sentient beings’ happiness. And then secondly the founder of this organization, Lama Yeshe, whose holy name is extremely rare to mention, who is kinder than all the three time buddhas. And the kindness of many other gurus. So what we have been able to accomplish so far depends on how much guru devotion practice we did correctly, it is the result of that.

Other FPMT Teachers
FPMT Education Services at International Office keeps lists of both Tibetan teachers and FPMT registered teachers who can be invited to teach at FPMT centers, projects, and services.
The FPMT Registered Teacher List catalogues the teachers who have successfully completed the FPMT teacher registration procedure, meaning they have completed the requisite study and practice to teach at the level for which they are registered. All FPMT registered teachers have signed and agreed to abide by the FPMT Ethical Policy. In addition to indicating Foundational Buddhism and In-Depth Buddhism registered teachers, granters of refuge and vows, and long retreat leaders, the FPMT Registered Teacher List also indicates some senior teachers, both geshes and scholars, in the Tibetan Buddhist Tradition who, because of their great respect for Lama Zopa Rinpoche and the FPMT, can be invited to teach at FPMT centers, projects, and services, although they are not registered as FPMT teachers.
The FPMT Tibetan Teacher List indicates Tibetan teachers who can be invited to teach at FPMT centers, projects, services, and study groups. It includes specific high lamas of the Tibetan Gelug tradition, specific young lamas of the Tibetan Gelug tradition, all resident geshes in FPMT centers, and some former resident geshes who are available to travel to FPMT centers.

‘Geshe’ is a Tibetan term, which literally translates as ‘spiritual friend’, and in the Gelugpa context has the additional meaning of someone who has completed their philosophical studies.
The primary role of the resident teacher is to teach FPMT education programs. A standard teaching program in an FPMT center includes some combination of introduction to Buddhism, introduction to meditation, teachings provided on a lecture basis, and teaching more intensive courses over a longer period of time such as Discovering Buddhism, Exploring Buddhism or the FPMT Basic Program and/or the FPMT Masters Program. The resident teacher may also lead and give guidance for retreats, and give advice for individual students.
The center director, along with the board of the center, is responsible for the management of the center. The main person responsible for helping the resident teacher to plan and organize their teaching program is the spiritual program coordinator (SPC), in line with the advice of Lama Zopa Rinpoche for education in FPMT centers, and the needs of center students.
If you know the psychological nature of your own mind, depression is spontaneously dispelled; instead of being enemies and strangers, all living beings become your friends. The narrow mind rejects; wisdom accepts. Check your own mind to see whether or not this is true.
