Offering Buddha Statues to His Holiness the Dalai Lama
Lama Zopa Rinpoche expressed his wish for FPMT to keep offering Buddha statues to His Holiness the Dalai Lama. To fulfill this wish, we now offer one hundred statues each year on auspicious occasions.
His Holiness is the greatest source of inspiration for FPMT. Rinpoche emphasized that serving His Holiness and fulfilling his wishes is our highest priority.
The moment holy objects such as statues of Buddha are completed, they become a field of merit for all sentient beings — only a cause for happiness. Holy objects help beings purify negative karma and create the causes for happiness and extensive merit, bringing them to enlightenment.
Creating and offering Buddha statues is extremely auspicious and a deeply meaningful offering to His Holiness, as he gives these statues to people who come to visit him.
2,200 Statues Offered

We rejoice that 2,200 statues of Shakyamuni Buddha have now been offered to His Holiness:
- 2019: Lama Zopa Rinpoche offered 1,000 statues.
- 2023: FPMT offered 1,000 statues during a long life puja for His Holiness.
- 2025: 100 statues were offered at the long life puja celebrating His Holiness’s 90th birthday.
- October 2026: A further 100 statues were offered.

Each statue is made in Nepal, filled with mantras, painted, gilded, and consecrated.
By making any offering to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, you are making offerings to all the buddhas and numberless bodhisattvas. This creates limitless skies of merit, every day and every second.

Rinpoche taught that by maintaining this close connection with His Holiness, all of our future lives will be like the sun shining. We will always be in the company of buddhas and achieve the highest realizations. This becomes the cause to achieve greater accomplishments and offer more extensive benefit to sentient beings in this and future lives.
