If you help others with sincere motivation and sincere concern, that will bring you more fortune, more friends, more smiles, and more success. If you forget about others’ rights and neglect others’ welfare, ultimately you will be very lonely.

Messages of Appreciation
I would like to thank all the people working in Rinpoche’s organization. You all are working very hard until now. I would like to request you to continue. Rinpoche works with such determination and great sincerity in the service of Buddha’s teachings and sentient beings.
I think the organisation does an amazing job. I know how challenging it is just running a small centre like ours and appreciate the enormous effort put in by many people in centres and the organisation worldwide. I watched the first BP module and found it incredible that this quality of teaching is available even when you don’t have a teacher. It takes huge effort to organise educational programmes such as those we have available to us. There is a need to continue to develop, but how wonderful we have teachers of the calibre of our Senior Sangha and Geshes and their wisdom available to us as resident and visiting teachers and through the Online Learning Centre. I look forward to seeing what comes in the future and hope I’m around in this life long enough to connect with even a small portion of what’s already on offer.
What a priviledge it is to be a part of such an amazing foundation, filled with such amazing people!
I want you all to know how much I enjoyed working with you on all of these projects and how proud I am to have been a small part in being able to apply the latest technology to such a wonderful tradition. It warms my heart to know that what we have done over the past few years has gone all over the world and hopefully brings many blessings to all. For me, it was really cool to step out of the normal uses of microfilming and apply it to your projects. It will always be one of the highlights of my 20 years in this industry. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I have received the greatest benefit of anything I can imagine from my studies (a peaceful accommodation with my family, job, health, life and something meaningful to do with this life). I cannot imagine any possible way to truly express my thanks for having that now and what I have to look forward to every day.
Letters of thanks and appreciation from the students of Maitripa College
I’m really glad that I decided to do the (Basic Program) exam and retreat, as it has given me renewed enthusiasm towards more study and meditation, and humility realizing that whatever I think I know is only like a drop in the the ocean of Dharma. My aspiration is to, in this life, create the causes to never be separated from the Mahayana Dharma, to meet it early, and to abandon the householders life, so I can engage wholeheartedly in the practices that will benefit others. Thank you, and the FPMT office, for all you have done in putting this program together and administering it.
Letter of thanks and appreciation from the Sera Je Abbott for the support towards the Sera Je Food Fund the last 18 years
I am writing today to let you know how much I appreciate FPMT and all that you do with people all over the world. I am constantly amazed when I receive each mandala magazine and see all that is being done under your kind guidance.
Having FPMT and Maitripa here (in Portland) has changed my life.
I feel like FPMT is taking off like a rocket this year! I’m so happy for Rinpoche and Lama and everyone who is working, helping, studying or operating any of the centers, study groups, etc. Amazing.
I just got the Prayer Book Volume 1 2008 edition, and I can’t begin to thank you and all involved for how beautiful and beautifully compiled it is!! What a blessing and asset this will be to my practice!!! Another reminder of why I am so grateful for and think the FPMT should be the fourth jewel I could take refuge in!!!
A few days ago I completed a year of retreats….at two FPMT centres (though I have visited and am very familiar with several others). The staff of the two centres could not have been kinder and more supportive. It is especially through appreciating their cultures of care and support for retreatants that I have renewed my admiration for the FPMT, and thereby for your [Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s] extraordinary holy activity for sentient beings. I have reflected on how marvelous it is in the world of suffering, war, depression, social dissatisfaction and spiritual denial, to have these oases of perfection, the FPMT centers. Moreover I have witnessed some unfortunate, unethical activities in other Buddhist organizations that make one feel so sad. Also the FPMT is generating study in the tradition of Je Rinpoche and yogic practice leading to enlightenment in a unique way. Compared to other organizations, the FPMT shines with virtue and a deep harmony. Of course there are superficial problems that come and go within FPMT – this is only to be expected – but I recognize that these are insignificant compared with the tremendous benefits to all beings generated through FPMT activities.
First of all, congratulations on the successful launch of the DB Online programme, its fantastic!!! Second, I’ve long meant to comment on how amazed I am by all resources of the FPMT Education Department, and the breadth of the Education Program worldwide (and accessibility) from DB to the Masters Program. Its all first-rate, from the teachings, the resources and materials, all the booklets, audio and video FPMT offers are quite fantastic, and such an important support for anyones practice at any level. The love that’s gone into all of it is abundant and obvious.
No words can really completely capture the joyous feelings in my heart when I think of how Rinpoche and FPMT has benefited so many thousands of people these past twenty, thirty years. I have tried several times but each time I am so overwhelmed with the things I want to convey that I just get so choked up. Rinpoche is indescribable – so pure, so patient, so humble and so so wise… and it is really incredible the way everyone at FPMT is constantly supporting and helping Rinpoche in his untiring quest to bring Dharma to so many thousands of us at every level along the path. I am so humbled by Rinpoche’s vast wisdom and patience and so inspired by so much effort being put in by my Dharma brothers and sisters in FPMT all working with the unwavering goal of planting seeds, making Dharma accessible, teaching, sharing, inspiring, reaching out, giving a shoulder, and showing the way to attaining the peerless enlightenment and always benefiting others. It is just so blissful knowing I am a small part of Rinpoche’s great mandala. Thank you everyone … and most of all thank you to Rinpoche for opening my eyes and my mind to the true meaning and purpose of my life.
At the close of the 1978 world tour, which was the first time His Holiness Song Rinpoche traveled to the West, His Holiness Song Rinpoche made the following comment:
Our organization (FPMT) has the potential to do more benefit than Lord Buddha himself.
Hello FPMT. I was able to complete one whole recitation of the Golden Light Sutra. Thank you for giving me this wonderful opportunity. Without your website, I would not have been able to download the sutra and complete the recitation. So thank you for your kindness in sharing the Dharma with all sentient beings.
I really admire Rinpoche’s tolerance and courage to help sentient beings. I admire and am very grateful for Rinpoche’s help with my health and his work for sentient beings. I really rejoice from the depth of my heart. I don’t have any particular advice for Rinpoche, whatever Lama Zopa Rinpoche is doing is enormous benefit, like the sky. I pray all Rinpoche’s wishes succeed and be elaborate like the sky. My wish is whatever Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s wishes are – may they become true.
Dear Dharma Brothers and Sisters,
I just wanted to write and thank the FPMT for publishing the new Six Session Guru Yoga with commentary by precious Lama Zopa.
I am so glad I bought it. It was the Dharma kick in the butt!
So often we get caught up in our day to day samsara and not REALLY, REALLY practice our six session yoga as it should be. The sad thing is that there is not many teachings on the SSGY. So we do our day to day practice and forget how important this practice is. So Lama Zopa’s extensive commentary is a wake up call to practice with feverish fervor!
Again thank you for all your hard work and dedication to the Dharma.
We are all blessed by your work.
Thank you so much to everyone at FPMT International Office for sharing Lama Zopa’s wisdom and all the wonderful FPMT news on a regular basis through the emails, website and Mandala magazine. Lama Zopa’s words of advice to me always feel like a prayer being answered in that way the Buddhas have of knowing exactly what each sentient being needs exactly at the moment they need it. It brings such rejoicing to know there are so many centres working together to spread the teachings and maintain the traditions so that all sentient beings can benefit. Having the FPMT International Office there as the life-tree holding up the rest of the FPMT is so tremendous. Many happy returns to each of you working so devotedly and diligently for the benefit of all.
I do rejoice and pray with both hands folded… please continue like this..
without you… all these little flowers like our center cannot exist and if so, then not grow. Thanks
Fantastic piece — very well executed and fun to read. I’m really enjoying the news and organizational transparency.
I was very excited to see the 1st Annual Review arrive this morning in my mail box. It reads and breathes achievement, growth and the incredible and inspirational vision of our great Lamas. Congratulations to everyone at FPMT International Office. I look forward to sharing it with my Dharma friends both old and new. Thank you.
My eyes are full of tears after reading all the anecdotes about Rinpoche [in the Lama Zopa Rinpoche Newsheet];
Many many thanks to you and all those who contributed to this moving portrait of an exceptional being.
I just got a couple of copies of the Oct/Nov issue of Mandala magazine – a very impressive magazine, with this entire issue dedicated to Climate Change!
Hi, Nancy,
I just picked up my first copy of Mandala Magazine and I wanted to write and tell you how great I think it is.
If you count the comic books I looked at before I went to school, then I have been reading magazines since the 1950s and I have never felt drawn to contact one and tell them how much I appreciate their work.
I was amazed at how much space was allotted to the topic of animals and vegetarianism. This is an area that has been far too neglected by other Buddhist magazines and Buddhists in general.
Many times I just buy Buddhist magazines to see what statues are for sale or what retreats are being offered and I hardly read the articles. This was not the case with your magazine. I found the articles to be very interesting.
Keep up the Great Work!
As for the benefit I am receiving from the Discovering Buddhism at Home program: I wish I could express it in words. I keep asking myself what can I do to express my appreciation and gratitude. For now, all I can do is keep practicing and hope one day I will Honor the foundation the way Lama Thubten Yeshe, Lama Zopa Rinpoche and everyone else at the foundation have Honored Lord Buddha.
This is one of the best NGO’s i’ve come across. Do visit it’s site fpmt.org
Aaaammaaaazzzzing FPMT! Prayers and dedications to all you Bodhisattvas. Thank you Lama and Rinpoche.
Para todos aquellos que esten interesados en el respeto a todos los seres sintientes de la creación, de la tierra visiten esta página, el budismo es más de lo que los libros de texto enseñan en las escuelas occidentales donde aprendimos con pre-juicio sobre ello.
For true teachings, and excellent class resource.
Best organisation in the universe!
Those of us who are seeking enlightenment, will develop an attachment to the sublime teachings from FPMT.
This is one of my affiliations, and a great source of Dharma!
There is nothing more important for me than the Dharma and FPMT is a great teaching organization, helping so very very many people…thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart…
Lovely organization. Charity work is wonderful eg Amdo Eye Hospital in Tibet
I am so grateful for all the work that you all put in so that I can learn the path. True rejoicing! I am enjoying the path so very much. I can’t imagine my life without it. Every moment is filled with dharma – in all aspects of my life. I even have dharma dreams now! Maybe some purification is going on. Such a long way to go but …step by step.
I was reading Rinpoche’s pamphlet on ‘Service’ during my recent break from my desk. I appreciated Rinpoche’s advice to Director’s to study philosophy, as he said (summarizing) “it is difficult, but good to try.” So as I studied for an exam that covers three months of classes, my fear and confusion loomed…but I thought I will just do my best!
After the exam was finished, I was surprised how much I learned …and remembered!
I offer a big big thanks and love to all who worked so hard for so long to create this amazing program for the centers/students.
Of course to Rinpoche, I offer utmost praise, and to all who work as part of the International Organization, huge mountains and oceans of thanks and love,
This organization provides opportunities to learn and practice the teachings of the Buddha, which enable individuals to actualize their optimum potential.
A pure road to pure wisdom and pure happiness…that’s the FPMT for me.
One of my most important teachers and traditions. A spiritual lineage that helps the world, every and all beings.
