Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition
The FPMT is an organization devoted to preserving and spreading Mahayana Buddhism worldwide by creating opportunities to listen, reflect, meditate, practice and actualize the unmistaken teachings of the Buddha and based on that experience spreading the Dharma to sentient beings. We provide integrated education through which people’s minds and hearts can be transformed into their highest potential for the benefit of others, inspired by an attitude of universal responsibility and service. We are committed to creating harmonious environments and helping all beings develop their full potential of infinite wisdom and compassion. Our organization is based on the Buddhist tradition of Lama Tsongkhapa of Tibet as taught to us by our founders Lama Thubten Yeshe and Lama Thubten Zopa Rinpoche.

I encourage people not to express their anger, not to let it out. Instead, I have people try to understand why they get angry, what causes it and how it arises. When you realize these things, instead of manifesting externally, your anger digests itself. In the West, some people believe that you get rid of your anger by expressing it, that you finish it by letting it out. Actually, in this case what happens is that you leave an imprint in your mind to get angry again.
Lama Thubten Yeshe

Video Teachings During the Coronavirus Pandemic
Welcome to the FPMT Annual Review 2019
Why It’s Important to Emphasize Rinpoche’s Video Teachings
Lama Zopa Rinpoche News:
Video Teachings During the Coronavirus Pandemic
Lama Zopa Rinpoche continues giving teachings recorded on video from Kopan Monastery, Nepal, during this coronavirus pandemic. Rinpoche is giving these teachings in order to help us to actually put into practice the teachings of the Buddha, and see how the Dharma gives us the ability to deal with these huge challenges we face. Rinpoche’s teachings come from his own deep experience of the Dharma, which can inspire our own minds and help us to have the strength and courage we all need.
In addition to the powerful Dharma work Rinpoche is giving us, these videos are also telling the story of Kopan Monastery, which is 50 years old this year! Kopan is the bedrock of the FPMT organization, and so hearing its story in these videos will enable us all to understand, and to connect more deeply, with our organization.
The videos, together with transcripts, recommended materials, and MP3 files, are available on fpmt.org. To help you navigate this wealth of resources, each video is provided with a brief introduction to the content, in English, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, and Chinese.
You can find these and all advice from Lama Zopa Rinpoche for the coronavirus.
This is part of our efforts to bring you all available Resources for the Coronavirus Pandemic.
Schedule Update
The Light of the Path Retreat has had to be postponed to 2021, due to the coronavirus pandemic: new dates will be advertised as soon as possible.
Recordings, videos and transcripts of Rinpoche’s recent teachings are always available at Rinpoche Available Now.

Where is eternal happiness? It’s not in the sky or in the jungle; you won’t find it in the air or under the ground. Everlasting happiness is within you, within your psyche, your consciousness, your mind. That’s why it’s important that you investigate the nature of your own mind.
